Associate / Project Manager Position

Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote | Full-time

One Lux Studio is a 20-person architectural lighting design firm based in Manhattan. We specialize in corporate headquarters, residential and hospitality environments—projects where lighting defines character, enhances experience, and elevates design intent. We are looking for an Associate / Project Manager (7-10 years of experience) to join our studio and help lead the delivery of innovative, high-profile work.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with principals on the development of lighting design concepts.
  • Lead the day-to-day management of assigned projects from concept through construction.
  • Oversee project coordination and delivery, ensuring schedules, milestones, and client deadlines are met.
  • Review drawings, fixture schedules, specifications, calculations, and related project documentation for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Support principals in client-facing work, including project communication, presentations, and coordination with the broader project team.
  • Oversee construction administration, including submittal review, responses to contractor questions, site visits, fixture aiming/focusing, and lighting controls coordination.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative studio culture.

 

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 7–10 years of professional experience in architectural lighting design
  • Experience managing projects from concept through construction
  • Strong ability to lead project delivery and provide oversight across multiple phases of work
  • Experience presenting designs directly to clients and coordinating with architects/engineers
  • Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD, with the ability to review and direct work in those platforms
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite, MS Office, and AGI32
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills

Preferred

  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or a related field
  • NCQLP LC, LEED, or WELL credentials (or interest in pursuing)

  • Location: Manhattan, NY (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
  • Salary: Exact compensation commensurate with ability and experience.
  • Type: Full-time, permanent role
