The color and motion of auto races inspired the lighting design for the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Lighting of the stainless steel mobius strip makes this the most visually dynamic building in Charlotte at night—the ribbon that shimmers in sunlight during the day and at night displays dynamic color chase. Many complex architectural geometries converge at the Great Hall, with a variety of lighting systems carefully composed to provide optimal illumination for different functions and daylight conditions. Lighting of curved metal forms at the Tower lobby, and the Hall of Fame entrance is designed to reveal these shapes through contrasting patterns of light and dark.
