The relocated showroom for Bernhardt Furniture, located in a revitalized area of Midtown in New York City, is a silent whisper of design excellence. The lighting design is both a subtle nod to the brand’s upscale style and the interior designer’s muted intentions. Careful integration of lighting into vertical and horizontal axes created the illusion of floating planes as they alternatively conceal or reveal other raw elements. Product display lighting played on key theatrical lighting principles – creating the right amount of shadow while also modeling forms properly.
